Club Training Sessions

OUR TRAINING SESSIONS

We offer a variety of club training sessions every week. If you are thinking of joining the club please feel free to come and try any of these sessions and see what we are up to.

Some sessions change during the year or meet in different places. For exact details of what upcoming sessions will consist of, check the calendar which you will see on the right hand side of every page.

 

Swimming

We have a coached session at Tidworth Leisure Centre every Wednesday evening. This caters for swimmers of all abilities (no really ALL abilities!). You will be in a lane with people of your own standard. The session lasts an hour and starts at 7.00pm.

 

Cycling

We have a choice of sessions during the week. All year round there is a ride on Wednesday evening starting at 7.00pm which meets at the Royal Oak, Charlton. This is usually about 25 miles at an evergae speed of 16-18mph. This is probably not a beginners ride, but on the plus side it does usually finish in the pub. During the Winter months you will need hi-viz clothing and strong front and rear lights.

During the Summer (once the clocks go forward) there is a steady ride which meets at the Wyke Down pub in Picket Piece on Wednesday – usually at 6.30PM. This will be anywhere from 10 to 35 miles depending on how long the evenings are. This is another ride that seems to find its way to the pub.

There is also a steady ride on Saturday morning. Time and meeting place vary, so watch the Club’s Facebook Group for details each week.

 

Running

There is a coached track session every Tuesday evening at 7.00pm at the athletics track in Charlton. This focuses on technique in the Winter and speed in the Summer.
