Bayside Tri Club News
British Triathlon and GO TRI are working together to launch their Tri January 2020 campaign to help the nation kickstart the new year by getting active with swim, bike and run.
GO TRI is British Triathlon’s beginner programme aimed at making triathlon and its three disciplines accessible to all. Funded through Sport England and The National Lottery, the campaign is being supported by This Girl Can to encourage more women to take up physical activity.
Tri January helped over 5,000 people to get active in 2019 through swimming, cycling and running their way through one of three distances.
Bayside Tri Club played a part in this by hosting 4 GO TRI events in Gosport. The four events consisted of:
- Pool based Aquathlon (swim/run)
- Pool based Triathlon (swim/bike/run)
- Duathlon (run/bike/run)
- Sea swim Triathlon
In recognition of the good work the club does to introduce new people to the sport of Triathlon we were awarded the region's GO TRI organiser of the year at the Triathlon England South Central AGM in November.
We've seen club members progress from absolute novice attending their first multi discipline sport event and two years later completing an Ironman. We've also seen lots return to our GO TRI events year after year as they are inclusive, friendly, safe and achievable.
If you're looking to get into triathlon but not sure of the first steps then check out the GO TRI website, sign up for a free welcome pack, read through some training guides and look for an event near you.
