River Nene 10k swimrun

This was the 2nd event in the Fenland Runner Intro Swimrun series with 10k , 21k solo and 21k team  distances available. 

The race was run with kind permission from Castor Parish Council and Alwalton Parish Council to use all the epic paths and trails around their beautiful villages.  

The swimming for the 10k solo race is in Gunwade Lake and the River Nene with easy entry and exit points. The run sections  were predominantly flat, off road with tracks, field and compact trail. Three of our club members  Mick Oliver, Claudette Joint & Darren Joint raced and enjoyed this variation on multisport events. Once again the Beaver flag flew high in terms of race results and placings. 

I'm sure if any members are interested in this type of racing they would be more than happy to share their experience.

1st AG 50+ Mick Oliver (overall 3rd)

1st AG 35-50 Darren Joint (overall 6th)

 2nd AG 35-50 Woman Claudette Joint (4th Female)
