About the course

Coach: Iain Todd

Wanlockhead is Scotland’s highest village. The area has Scotland’s highest hotel, Scotland’s highest pub, Scotland’s highest…you get the idea. Above Wanlokhead there is a prominent golf-ball like structure on the summit of Lowther Hil. It is a radar station used by NATS (National Air Traffic Services). This is a 50 mile loop from wanlockhead on very quiet roads. There is one big climb but its at the end of the ride. It is optional whether you do it. You can find the route here - https://www.strava.com/routes/2960142583207413360 There is a video of the route here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7z99KCt474 Anyone participating should be: - comfortable riding for 50 miles, - have a helmet and a road worthy bike - be able to fix any issues that may arise on their bike The ride will only go ahead if the weather is good.
