Training Phases

By being a member at ITC, you have access to a training plan through your Training Peaks. The coaching team work hard to ensure your training has purpose and fits with the race season. The coaching team spent the day together planning the next 12 months in order to optimise your training. We are conscious that we have not previously explained to you how it all works.

We prepare the club training plan through periodisation which is a process of dividing the annual training plan into a series of manageable phases. Each phase has a focus which are base, build, race and recovery. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be going into further detail on what each phase is and what it will mean for your training over the next year, so you understand how it all fits.

Below is a diagram to give you an idea of how the ITC training calendar is going to work for the next year. You will see that we will be bringing in a club championship with selected races. This does not mean you cannot do other races, but we would love to get as many people racing at these events as possible! We will of course post about this nearer the time.
