Chair & Coach Representative: Jo Mallinson

Role: To chair committee meetings and liaise with external bodies

What got you into Tri:

I enjoyed the 3 disciplines on their own and wanted a challenge so decided to put them all together!

Top Tip:

Train with others, it makes it much more fun!

Membership Secretary: Ashley Chapman

Role: Looking after memberships

What got you into Tri:

After many years of athletics/running my legs couldn't take 5 training sessions a week. I entered the local Erewash Tri for fun and found that with 3 sports my overall fitness improved and have other sports to fall back on if I do get injured.

Top Tip:

Train hard, race easy but don't forget to have a laugh along the way.

Secretary: Julie Lambourne

Role: Point of contact for all things official

What got you into Tri:

A team mate from the Cross-country club suggested I take up triathlon after I got to the pub on my bike faster than he did in his car!

Top Tip:

Enjoy your training and racing. Aim to finish every session or race with a smile on your face even if it hasn't gone to plan, and always be polite to and thank the marshalls.

Treasurer: Nigel Turner

Role: To manage the club finances.

What got you into Tri:

So my entry into Triathlon was very late but it is for me a great mental as well as a physical challenge.  For me , the participation and completion is the most important part of it though when I am on my bike my true competitive spirit takes over.

Top Tip:

If you can Smile though your legs are aching,

If you can smile though your lungs are busting

If you can Smile though someone 15 years older has just breezed past you...

Then you are Triathlete.... So do your best and sod the rest

Social Secretary: Timmy Doyle

Role: To organise fun stuff to do!

What got you into Tri:

Excuse to buy bike stuff from ebay!!

Top Tip:

You really don't need all the fancy kit to enjoy the sport… be consistent with your training!

Social Secretary: Emily Lockett

Role: To organise fun stuff to do and keep Timmy in check!

What got you into Tri:

I used to to a lot of running and always fancied having a go at triathlon so went to a track and swim session with the club and the rest is history.

Top Tip:

Training with others at the club sessions makes it so much more fun and you get to make a great bunch of new friends!

General Member: Harry Hitchcock

What got you into Tri:

I was training for a marathon and realised I was enjoying the Swim and Bike cross training as much as the running, and they were causing fewer injuries! Signed up for my first tri a few weeks later and went from there.

Top Tip:

Get stuck in! Signing up to a race is a great motivator, and training with others helps keep things interesting.
