About Us

Hello and welcome to Tri Team Glos Triathlon Club.

We are a warm and welcoming club, providing an enjoyable atmosphere to all those with an interest in triathlon, no matter at what level they wish to compete.

The club was formed in 1998 by a number of like-minded individuals who wanted to pursue their passion and interest in Triathlon. Over the years, numerous members of the club have competed at many various levels and distances, from sprint and Olympic distances through to Ironman; Novice to World Championship levels.

Tri Team Glos is committed to ensuring it is an inclusive club of triathlon excellence, promoting and encouraging the development of triathlon within Gloucestershire. We welcome people of all age groups and levels of abilities and fitness, supporting equal opportunities for every member throughout.

Tri Team Glos is run by an elected committee, as per the club’s Articles of Association. The committee takes pride in steering the club in keeping with the original ethos of the club, ensuring it is a club for all.

We hold regular swimming, cycling and running training sessions throughout the year as well as providing a varied calendar of training and social activities. For details of our membership packages, please see the Membership page.

About the team

Founded in 1998, TTG is Gloucestershire’s friendliest triathlon club with over 80 members, some of whom represent Great Britain regularly in international age group competitions, winning medals while many of us are happy keeping fit and having fun!

BTF recognised

Tri Team Glos is a recognised UK triathlon club having affiliated to the British Triathlon Federation (BTF). Separate membership of the BTF by triathletes entitles them to: discount on event entry fees; additional insurance cover for training; a quarterly copy of TriNews and a free handbook in which all ‘sanctioned’ events in the UK are listed.

Clubmark

The club is well-organised and in December 2019 was awarded TriMark Bronze status. TriMark/Clubmark has been created by Sport England in partnership with the British Triathlon Federation to recognise and accredit clubs that are committed to providing a quality club – safety, fairness, coaching and management – and a safe and fun environment for children and young people.

TTG aims

The aims of the club are contained within the “Articles of Association.” Basically, it is to provide a focal point for triathlon/duathlon activities in the County. This includes training sessions, seminars and events.  The club provides equal opportunity of access irrespective of sex, religion, ethnic origin, marital status or disability. Financial hardship does not exclude participation.

Membership of the club does not imply the participation in group training and/or events. There is no intention to coerce people into training sessions, team events etc. All abilities of triathletes/duathletes will be catered for but they must be actively pursuing these multi-discipline sports. The club is not open to single discipline athletes. Senior members must be at least 15 years on or after 1st April this year.
