The Values of Carmarthen Triathlon Club
Culture- A triathlon club that is open to all and proud to represent the town of Carmarthen. The aim is to improve health and fitness through physical activity in a fun and social atmosphere.
Attitude- no one individual is bigger than the club. When you sign up as a member you vow a pledge to leave the club in a better place than you found it through either racing, coaching, volunteering or supporting. No matter how great or small a difference you make it all adds up to the greater good of the club.
Respectful- the club is for the community and not just the individual. Respect all members abilities and encourage participation. All views should be welcomed and respected, but the needs of the club come first, therefore respect that all decisions have been fully thought through.
Member Focused- The cost of membership must be affordable to the all social demographics of the town. Training sessions, club kit, member groups, discount codes etc are for the sole use of paying members.
Accountable- All finances, accounts, meetings, committee positions and decisions are always transparent and available to be seen by all members. Nothing should be hidden.
Reliable- When volunteering as a member, coach, committee member or any other role, you ensure that you can fully commit before accepting that role. If your circumstances change inform the club in good time. A good club is built on a core of strong volunteers.
Trustworthy- All intentions of members, coaches and committee members are to be for the good of the club. A club atmosphere requires trust in many areas and all personnel should have clear intentions and communicate grievances. No member should feel uncomfortable at any club event.
Humble- No matter if you’re a pro athlete or fighting the cut off times you are welcome at the club. Success should not breed arrogance. If you are winning, remember that others will look up to you as an example. Use that as a force for good and help them achieve their own aims rather than becoming elitist and exclusive.
Ethical- All races, religions, sexual orientations and views are accepted at the club with no prejudice. No club member can profit from being a member of the club in their own business without prior knowledge of the committee. All personal data will be secured and only available to committee members that require it. On leaving the club personal data will be destroyed.
National Governing Body Compliant- All coaches are qualified through British Triathlon and conducting their sessions within their remit. All activities have been planned appropriately and risk assessed to ensure safety. All members are covered through British Triathlon’s insurance policy.
