Hi All,

Firstly, may I just wish you all a very happy new year and I hope that you have all been able to rest, recover and replenish your resilience in whatever ways you find best over the past few weeks.  I have found that nice countryside dog walks, short runs and little dips in the sea have been so very helpful.

With 2020 behind us now I do hope that we can start to look forward to a great 2021.  I think we all understand that the first few months may be difficult but I’m optimistic that normal training and events will start to happen again from the spring.  It is nice to think that the days are getting longer and although I’m sure winter has another surprise for us, I hope that this year will be crammed packed with fun. 

So, it may be time to grab some early bird discounts for the events you wanted to enter last year or to set yourself your own personal challenge – maybe your first tri, to go a bit longer or to travel a bit further to compete.   Remember to let other members what you are planning as many will reach out to join you at the events or on any extra training sessions. 

We will be keeping a close eye on the news to see how the situation changes.  We want to be sure that we can keep on top of any changes in policy and laws and we want to keep you all updated with how these may affect our club.  To ensure we can do this I will be restarting the weekly club committee meetings from the 6th Jan and will aim to provide weekly updates to adult and juniors via the relevant Facebook pages.

A reminder that we are looking for volunteers to help with the junior sessions.  We have been able to secure some funding for activator and coach training so if you are interested in helping out then please get in touch. 

One final thing, there will be a tri club Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 23rd Jan, which looks like it will be virtual, I will be sure to provide more details as soon as they are confirmed.
