Updates on North Dorset Triathlon Club training, races, and events

Chairman’s Blog – Spring, has it sprung? – 1 Mar 21

Hi All,

A shorter month with lots going on - lots of virtual rides (social, fitness & races) with the hope to motivate and accommodate as many of you as possible – there is lots to look forward to as well.

As the government announces the roadmap, to steer us out of the current situation, the governing body for triathlon have also been hard at work to produce guidance to help clubs and event organisers get back to activities.   Watch this space for the official announcement in the very near future of the “Big Reboot 2021” guidance roadmap.  This is the roadmap which outlines the guidance that we need to follow to enable the return to training activities and events.

We will keep you all up to date on how this will be implemented in the club.  As a sneak preview we think that we will be able to return to some club coached activities as soon as the 29th March (including open water swims) and we hope to be back in the pool in April for Juniors and May for Adults.

Whist we still wait for this to happen I just wanted to remind all members about the weekly keeping in touch calls.  NDTC - North Dorset Tea and Cake - is a chance to have a social catch-up with other members. It is on every Saturday morning - 09:45 until 10:25. It is a zoom call so just click on the link in the email invitations on your smart phone (or another device) to join.

I hope you have all been able to enjoy the nice weather over the past few days – for me It feels like spring is well on its way – happy days.

Stay safe

Chris
