My first 10-miler

I’ve entered the Bassingbourn Belle 10-miler. There is now less than 6 days to go - yikes !
I’ve been following a plan & sticking to it .  It makes such a difference to have this,  I tick off each day and feel pleased that I’m on track.

I’ve also learned to block out the little voice in my head saying “ you can’t do this“ “walk for a bit“ “you haven’t got time “or it’s too cold”.
I have definitely noticed progress as the weeks have gone by, feeling more in control and managing my pace.
It’s made me realise how important warming up and training is.  Who knows what race day will bring but as long as I complete it, I will be chuffed and have that sense of achievement.

I encourage anyone to have a go and take part ….
This club have lots of fantastic supportive members who have offered advice or support along the way.  The club sessions have helped  support my training plan, trail runs, fartleks, Strength & Conditioning to name a few.
I was pushed out of my comfort zones at times but all for the good.  Sometimes you have to take the next step even if it’s a leap !

To mention a few Victoria, Laura, Shirley & Alison & Steve Dyche.  - Thank you
