The Northumberland Festival of Sport – Druridge Bay – saw six of our club members in action this weekend. Jim took part in the Standard Aquabike – a 1.5km swim followed by 38k on the bike – in a fantastic time of 01:53:35. Absolutely amazing Jim – this event attracted lots of top athletes from around the world as it was Age Group Qualifier for the 2023 World Championships – and you were one of those “fast old boys” too!! Jim is now in training for the Great North Swim, 5k at Windermere on 10th June.

Then we had the Sprint Triathlon – a 750m swim, 19km bike and 5.75km run – with Michelle, Dan and Dave – Dan 01:27:41, Dave 01:28:34 and Michelle 01:54:06. A great event for all – Michelle is already looking forward to next year! A special shout out to Dave who came 4th in his age group category – well done Dave! Next up for all will be Leeds Triathlon … not long to go!

And last – but not least – the Standard Triathlon – a 1.5km swim, 38km bike and 11.5km run. This event saw Peter and Megan taking part – this being Peter’s first standard distance. Peter you deserve to be “super chuffed” with your time of 02:46:27 – well done - a fantastic result!!
