Level 1 BTF Coach, Strength and Conditioning Coach, UKA Leader in Running Fitness
“My first experience of triathlon was in 2013 when I did the bike leg as part of a relay team at the Yorkshire Triathlon, Wakefield. My hybrid bike was not the best for what was a horribly hilly course but it gave me the motivation to train and return the following year to complete the super sprint. I joined Doncaster Athletics Club to learn to run and became a UKA run leader. I joined DTC in 2015 to learn how to swim ( I had a fear of putting my face in the water and couldn’t swim half a length front crawl). I have completed sprint triathlons and the Vitruvan and Outlaw 70.3 as well as running 5k’s, 10k’s and half marathons and cycling sportives up to 100 miles. I have a love hate relationship with running so the mixture of disciplines in triathlons suits me. I became an Activator as I love helping people to achieve their own goals. My involvement with the coaching team is limited at the moment (mainly just covering run sessions when no one else is available) but I plan to do my level 1 coaching later this year so I can be more useful. I am not the quickest runner or swimmer and I hate hills on the bike but I have an abundance of enthusiasm and if I can inspire others then I’m happy.
Outside of triathlons I love nothing better than spending time with my family and I have a horse that I don’t ride anywhere near as much as I should”
