2023 Scottish National Aquathlon Championships

Not the weather you would have hoped for in July, rain, clouds and strong winds made for an exciting choppy swim in Loch Lomond today. And it was a balmy 14 degrees in the water...! The swim was challenging for all the competitors, some swimmers struggled with the cross winds that pushed swimmers onshore, with a few competitors being rescued by the support team.

For the second weekend in a row - Nicole Campbell stepped onto the top step of the podium to take a National Title (1st Female and 3rd overall, incl. males) following in the footsteps of previous winners - Natalie Milne and Sophia Green, who have represented Scotland at the the last two Commonwealth Games. An outstanding performance!

Other results:

Lisa Wallace (F45-49) 2nd 🥈

David Horne (M50-54) 1st 🥇

Martyn Phillips (M35-39) 5th - only 30 secs off a medal finish

The Beastie / Wee Beastie Triathlon & Open Aquathlon

We also had representatives in the Triathlon and Open Aquathlon races.

Kelly Milne and Lewis Lamond were competing in their first triathlons and they should be very proud of their efforts in tough conditions. Lewis had a great race, despite a crash, and finished 3rd overall !!! Kelly was a bit disappointed with her swim, but recovered well to finish 3rd in her age group.

Polly Darby got a major dooking from another competitor in the swim, all part of the fun of open water swimming. She went well on the run to finish 8th in her category. Well done!
