Ella, Euan & Harris in action at the British Super Series in Llanelli

Triathlon Scotland Preview

The second round of the British Super Series heads to Llanelli, Wales, this weekend, and it is set to be a thriller as some of the best youth, junior and senior athletes in the country are set to compete for those all important Championship and European Cup starts. The British Triathlon Super Series is a chance for athletes to race on the domestic scene at a high and competitive level throughout the summer.

There is a large contingent of Scottish athletes making the long trip down. The event is held around the North Dock of Llanelli, where the swim will get underway, before athletes take to transition and head out onto a closed road circuit on the bike. With the race taking place next to the sea, the bike section is prone to a strong tail wind one way and a strong headwind the other, so it will be all about tactics on the day for the athletes. The run takes place alongside the bike course on the Millennium Coastal path.

Junior, senior and paratri athletes will compete over the sprint distance of a 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run in Llanelli, with Youth athletes taking on the shorter super sprint distance of a 375m swim, 12km bike and 2.5km run.
