Club History

The Club was formed in April 2004 with just 12 members and has steadily grown ever since, now having well over 100 members with ages ranging from 8 to over 60, with a thriving junior section to provide the triathletes of the future. We have very experienced coaches, some of who have experience with the North West Regional Academy and Para Triathlon Academy coaching team.

Our members have had great success in races at a local, national and international level, from sprint to IronMan, as well as many representing their country at European and World GB Age Group level and qualified for Kona. But many members simply enjoy the sport and try to keep fit or get a bit quicker each year.

We offer weekly structured, progressive and innovative training sessions (planned and delivered by BTF accredited and DBS checked coaches) that cater for all ages, race distances and abilities. Whatever your ability, experience level or preferred event / distance you will be welcomed into a friendly club and find other members who you can train with, get advice and learn from.

We have organised Junior events as part of the North West Series, which as well as being great fun, helps us give something back to the community and encourages the kids to take up the sport.

And the club also spawned the crazy Oompa Loompas! Full fancy dress for IronMan UK feed stations and guest appearances at other sports events with our cheesy disco too. We don't take ourselves too seriously and like to put a smile on people's faces whilst promoting our club and triathlon.
