The club has in the past hosted a junior triathlon at Druridge Bay Country Park on the beautiful Northumberland Coast featuring an open water swim in Ladyburn Lake.  Sadly for 2020 we were unable to setup an adequate organising committee and so did not intend to hold the event – and Coronavirus would no doubt have meant that the event would have been cancelled in any case.

The venue is ideal for a junior event. The freshwater lake is sheltered and as safe as open water can be. The bike course uses a scenic traffic free tarmac route between the park and the dunes, and the run course winds around the footpaths and meadow tracks on the south side of the lake. The park offers cafe and toilet facilities, a kids play area to keep the little ones entertained, as well as free parking and easy access to the beautiful beach, perfect for a fun family day out.
