Castle Tri’s Super Sunday!

It was a much-anticipated weekend with Berwick Borders and Bridges Sprint Tri, Hexham Aquathlon and Geordieman (full and half distances) all on the Sunday morning. Unfortunately, it was impossible to attend all three events, but Todd managed to compete in Berwick and then make it to Druridge Bay Country Park to support Geordieman competitors – a great achievement in itself!

Here’s some photos and highlights from the day:

Team Helena, Michael and Sam took on Geordieman 70.3 and had all been training hard – which showed in their fantastic time! Much admiration for their efforts and the fab hoodies.

Both Keely and Keith had been so dedicated to training to the challenge of Geordieman despite the obstacles life throws in the way (good old Covid!). Keely's first Geordieman (and 70.3 distance) and Keith's third Geordieman, both finished satisfied and suitably knackered!

Lucy, Jo, Sue, Todd, Kate and Cat took on Borders and Bridges Sprint Tri, run by Tweed Triathlon Club in Berwick. It was a mixed bag with some good races, some niggling injuries, a tire flat and an unhelpful direction to go the wrong way among the racers today – but we all appreciated the tree sapling and cheese in the race goody bag!

Peter and Hezzy represented us at Hexham Aquathlon, with Hezzy achieving a podium position! It doesn’t matter how many people he was against, he beat almost all of them!

Take a look at race reports from Hezzy and Lucy:

Congratulations to all competitors and supporters, and thanks to all the organisers and marshals that get these fun events to happen!
