The Castle Tri Annual Awards night took place at Prudhoe Social Club on the 27th January 2024.  It was another good turn out for both the athletes and their families.  The night was opened with the Annual AGM before moving on to the awards for the 2023 season.  It was a great night with a number of members given awards for performances and recognition for services to the club.

Overall Club Champions for the year were Philip Hindmarsh and Jo Mitchell.  Philip also won the male 50+ category and Jo was the 35 - 49 female champion.  Both were unable to attend the awards night but well done to both for your efforts during the season. 

One of the most notable awards on the night was for Peter French (no relation to the other Frenchy's!) who was awarded Coaches choice for most improved Triathlete 2023.  Unfortunitly Peter was unable to attend but has since said "I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Castle Tri Committee, Coaches and members.  Being a memeber hasn't just improved my physical health but my mental health too and its a priviledge to be part of the club".  Well done to Peter for a fantasic effort over the last 12 months

Another achivement for newly qualified coach Keith Nicholson, not only did he walk away  with 3rd Place in the 35 - 49 Male category, he also collected the award for Spirit of Tri.  Keith has shown a massive committment to the club over the last 12 months, producing the club news letter, organising the social functions, is is always there supporting and encouraging others.  Keith has also made a seamless transition from Athlete to Coach in the last 12 months and it is a privilege to have him in the club.

Another double winner this year was newcomer Darren Dobson.  Not only was Darran awarded Novice Champion but also 2nd Place in the 35 - 49 Male Category.

Our very own Chairman Justin Turner  picked up 1st Place in the 35 - 49 Male category (Well his wife is the competions Secretary!!!). Well done Justin
