Training Information

  • To book a session, click on the session booking tab.

  • All bookings can be done once you have registered your details on the website. 
  • Your first swimming session is free, all you need to do is register and contact us to introduce yourself, we will take care of the rest.
  • Our running sessions and social rides are free, all you need to do is register and introduce yourself to the run or bike leader. 

What training do we offer?

Our coaching team are all volunteers who have gained a British Triathlon accredited coaches’ qualification with bags of experience in the world of Swim, Bike & Run

We also have Swim, Bike and Run leaders who take the MTC crew out on various sessions. These are all aimed at all abilities. 

SWIM

  • We welcome all abilities to our coached sessions as we provide a variety of fun training focusing on technique, endurance, and speed.
  • We have a dedicated team of coaches who lead the sessions and also provide support and advice to our members. 
  • Once a month, we host a swimfit session which focuses on fitness. 
  • Our sessions are on a Thursday evening , at Batley Sports and Tennis Centre , WF17 0QD  from 20:00- 21:00.
  • Paying members £6
  • Non paying members: £7.50

BIKE

  • Club rides are important to us and for the members. The rides are aimed at all abilities and we look to get out on the bikes every two weeks.

  • In partnership with  Wakefield Triathlon Club, our paying members can train on a Tuesday night at the BCAT cycling facilities.

RUN

  • Our running sessions are for everyone, so regardless of ability, we all run together and finish together, no one gets left behind.
  • We have a dedicated team of run leaders and coaches and we like to mix it up and keep it fun and challenging. You could find yourself doing fartlek, intervals, hills or donning your head torch on and hitting a night-time trail.
  • We meet on a Monday night at Dartmouth Park at 18:30.

  • We have a strong partnership with Morley Running Club. Some of our coaches and members are run leaders and a lot of our members are from Morley Running Club, so it’s a great way to meet likeminded people that love to run. Click the link for more info

RUNNING WITH STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

  • We host monthly strength and conditioning sessions in the park. These sessions are aimed at all abilities. Our ethos is to make it fun and enjoyable. Not only will you be getting a good workout , we will make you stronger, fitter and healthier. 

Additional notes:

  • We encourage our members to become members of Triathlon England as this gives you many benefits including liability insurance.
  • Every effort will be made by the coaches to ensure a safe session is provided and their advice and guidelines are there to help you, however, this does not make them liable for anything that happens during the session. Individuals are responsible for their own safety.
  • Please ensure you arrive fuelled up, hydrated and with a smile on your face.
  • In partnership with Tri BB and Wakefield Tri club, we offer our paying members the opportunity to train with them as part of the MTC membership.
