About us

Tri-Force Juniors is a triathlon club in St Albans for children. The club is entirely run by parents of our young triathletes.

Training is normally held on a Saturday afternoon at various locations in the vicinity of St Albans, the duration is between one and a half and two hours. We welcome young people, of all abilities, between the ages of 8 and 17 years, although for insurance reasons swimmers must be capable of swimming a minimum of 50 metres unaided.

Led by Rav Dighe, Head Coach,  Tri-Force Juniors coaches have either Level 1 (Foundation) , 2 (Group)  or  3 (High Performance) British Triathlon coaching qualifications.

Our sessions cover all of the skills required to complete the various disciplines of Triathlon (Swim, Cycle, Run & Transition) and are challenging,  but at the same time maintain an element of fun and provide children with the opportunity to train in a safe and rewarding environment. Our coaches also focus on developing the juniors overall fitness by delivering strength and conditioning sessions.

Welcome from our Chair - Suhela Dighe

Welcome to the Tri-Force Juniors website, where we hope you will find all the information you require so you can start your children on a journey to enjoy a lifetime of swim, bike, run fun!

I was introduced to triathlon when I met Rav (Dighe) in 1992. I've trained, raced with and supported him at races ever since. In 2006, I gained my British Triathlon Level 1 certification and together we have coached many after school triathlon clubs and kids camps.

At Tri-Force Juniors, we want to prepare and encourage your children to enjoy taking part in swim, bike, run events and weekly training. It is so important for their health and wellbeing to keep active.

In recent years, some our club members have been winning British and Regional championships and some are now on the cusp of entering adult races. It is amazing to see our kids grow up in the sport.

Our focus at TFJ is on having fun in a safe environment and introducing your children to an enjoyable time in the sport of triathlon.

Welcome from our head coach - Rav Dighe

We are passionate about coaching children at Tri-Force Juniors. Our ethos is that all children should be active and happy.

I also started in competitive sport as a young teenager in the U.S., competing in my first big triathlon in Chicago in 1982. Since taking on the head coach role at Tri-Force Juniors, I’ve completed my British Triathlon HPCP Level 3 course and as part of that ran a survey to understand what motivates children to participate in triathlon and train in a club.

This confirmed our coaching values: Children want to challenge themselves, but at the same time have fun doing the sport. Coaching at Tri-Force Juniors sessions is therefore age appropriate, challenging, but we add in games and friendly competition.
