What do the Committee do?
The committee consists of several roles. Each of these will usually be filled by one member, but two members may be appointed should the need arise. The committee meets four or more times a year as well as at the annual general meeting (AGM), usually at a local pub. The committee communicates regularly throughout the year to share ideas, discuss issues raised and vote on proposals (via a WhatsApp Community).
Any club member is welcome to volunteer to join the committee. Appointments are usually made at the AGM and members are required to be proposed by another full member of the club. The full details are found in the club constitution.
Being on the committee is a fulfilling and rewarding role, enabling members to participate in a specific role and more generally in the direction, leadership and management of the club. Whilst the time commitment is not onerous, we recognise that this is a voluntary role and as such the club is very grateful to those willing to take these roles.
