My story is one of a swimmer, turned triathlete, turned triathlon coach and it began for me in 2012...

In 2012. I was just a swimmer, a decidedly average one at that, and I was introduced to the sport of triathlon by my then swimming coach, Paul Ryman, who also happened to be a triathlete (and a very good one too).

He recommended that I watch the upcoming London Olympic Games triathlon and the already world famous Brownlee Brothers to see if that was perhaps something I might be interested in doing.

As I watched the London Olympic triathlon I knew then and there, that's what I wanted to do.

After graduating from Loughborough University in 2018. I relocated back to my home county of Somerset where I now live, train, and work, alongside an ever supportive group of family member. friends, and training buddies!

I love to learn, and is why I have ultimately gravitated to coaching - a pursuit I had been putting off for years whist focused on developing myself as a competitive athlete.

When I am not training, learning, coaching, analysing, I am doing almost more of the same at work, for the sports nutrition brand U Perform, co-founded by the amazing Professor Greg Whyte OBE.

Working in the sports industry ignited my passion for the sport following a period of time when I almost gave it up entirely.

It helped me realise my passion and drive to give back to the triathlon community, at home and away to help others have the same amazing experience of physical and mental health & wellbeing through triathlon as I have over the last 10 years.

Natalie George - Level 1 BTF Coach

In 2010 I completed my first triathlon a super sprint that I did for charity and my triathlon journey developed  from there. I’m not a natural triathlete and have to work hard at all three disciplines but over time my confidence and belief in my abilities has grown from sprints, to Olympic distance, half Ironman and then finally to an Ironman. In 2019 I became a Level 1 BTF triathlon coach, it’s been so rewarding to see club members grown in their ability and confidence.   It’s been great to be involved in FTC as a coach and see the club grow and the achievements of its members.
