The Tri-Force Juniors team have continued their fantastic season with the only open water event in the East Region series, the Chelmsford Discovery Triathlon!
The event proceeded as planned despite some weather concerns. The race this year was an IRC qualifier race not just for the East Region, but for London and the South-East too, bringing tough competition on a longer than average course.
The event was very well organised, and we all had a great time. Podiums too, for Chloe Willson and Jack Donald.
“I really enjoyed my first open water triathlon at Chelmsford, and I feel inspired to do open water and that course again. I was a bit nervous before the swim, as the water was so clear you could see the plants reaching up to you on the bottom - but once I got in, I adjusted and enjoyed it. I particularly loved the bike course as it was asphalt and much smoother than grass!

"This was my first time in a lake and the water was very cold! but I was pleased with myself when I got out of the lake. The biking was very fun and everyone from Tri-Force Juniors was supporting me and that made me very happy. I enjoy the activities we do during training and I can't wait for the Tri-Force Juniors triathlon next week at Aldwickbury school.

"It was another early start for the Chelmsford Discovery Triathlon last Sunday, but well worth it! I was quite nervous as it was my first open water event, but I got lots of helpful suggestions from the team! I did get a little off course with the swim, but with great support from my club mates, I pushed through and was proud to make it to the podium”
Congratulations to the whole team, you all did so well!
