Tri-Force Juniors weekend of PB's

A huge congratulations to our busy Tri-Force Juniors team, who took part in the WaldenTRI duathlon, Hatch End triathlon as well as a swim/bike training session at Sandringham this weekend.

The hard work and regular training is certainly paying off for our young athletes, with a series of impressive performances and many personal bests – you should all be proud of your efforts!

Special mention to Jake Summers who took first place at the Walden Duathlon, TriStar 3 and for Daniel Crockford who also took first place at the Hatch End Triathlon, TriStar2.

Quotes from our athletes:

I really enjoyed the Hatch End triathlon,  during the briefing they walked us through and made sure we knew exactly where we were meant to be. To help me get through a triathlon, I only think about two things:

  1. Making sure I don’t make silly mistakes.
  2. Trying to overtake the person in front.

Point 2 is what I focus on quite a lot when I’m tired! With this mentality I managed to come first in TriStar2 at this event.”

Daniel Crockford - TriStar2

I was very happy with my race. The joy of crossing that finish line! I am happy with my overall position, which was much improved from last year’s triathlon. I was still so full of energy when I got out of the pool.

It’s just wonderful with all the cheers you get crossing into the first transition, its so nice when people you don’t even know cheer for you, as well as the kids you’re competing with!

I’m very happy with how this triathlon day went and can’t wait to do more with the club”.

Valentina Dourlen – TriStar2

I felt great during the race today, especially during the cycle, I have been training hard on my bike, and this was helpful during the race. I didn’t get too tired and managed to keep a steady pace for the whole race. I think that is what motivates me, putting in the effort during training and seeing the progression that I achieve during race day”.
