Covid 19 club update

Morning all, just an update following the recent committee meeting.

Obviously our main topic of discussion was the ever changing covid situation and how it effects us as a club.

Whilst the Government is slowing relaxing restrictions on social gathering and sports participation we are still guided by our governing body the BTF and it has been a lengthy process sifting through all the guidelines that have been issued.

With regard to our club sessions we are still waiting to hear from Stafford leisure centre regarding our Thursday swim session, the centre only re-opened on Monday and their are several restrictions on public swimming that would make our sessions very difficult, when we know the situation we will inform you all. We have also been informed that Rugeley pool will be out of service for some time due to a structural leak issue.

The open water swim session is still not possible as we are still in discussion with the water company ( they own the reservoir) and the sailing club, ( we use the water during one of their permitted use days) things are a little stalled at the moment and it is proving very difficult to resolve.

Club rides.

Currently guidance allows for upto 6 people to cycle together and a few of us have been trying this recently and it has been nice to get back out with other club members. The Saturday mass ride is still not possible but if you want to ride with others then feel free to post up let others know that you are riding, please remember to try and ride with similar abilities when possible and for the purpose of track and trace you will need to make sure that you all have each others contact details incase of a covid infection. It would be nice to see a few groups meet afterwards for a socially distanced coffee and cake at Millford.

The run sessions are similar to bike in that small groups of upto six are allowed but as with bike please ensure that you all have each others details. The track sessions will hopefully return soon and

Simon Warwick

and

Jarryd Dunn

will post up when they are possible.

Rest assured that your committee are still working in the background to work through all the latest guidelines to make sure that we are able to provide club sessions as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and continued membership during these very difficult times, the health and safety of all members is very important to us and will continue to be so.

Cheers
