Triathlon England - National Relay Championships 2022

On Saturday 27th August, Chippenham Triathlon Club fielded three teams in the National Relay Championships held at the National Watersports Centre, Nottingham.

Consisting of a 500m swim, 15km bike and a 5km run, each team member completes their leg of the swim, before ‘tagging’ the next person to swim. The same format continues until all four members have completed the swim, before moving on to the bike and then the run. Finish times are taken when the fourth team member completes their 5km run, finishing in front of the grandstand.

The morning race the club’s BTF Male Vet 50+ team raced and placed a respectable 5th in category.

Team members: Duncan Cooper, Stewart Mcmillan, Andrew Phillips and Stuart Dinwoodie

We also fielded a non-BTF Male Open team placing 19th in category.

Team members: Ed Grace, Neil Perry, Christopher Booth and Jake Stephens

In the afternoon race the club’s BTF Mixed Vet 40+ team managed hugely successful 3rd overall in category and a ‘Bronze’ National Championship medal.

Team members: Vicky Green, Rob Field, Lynsey Carpenter and Lee Green

Club Chairman ‘Neil Perry’ was very proud that as a club we can put 3 teams in to represent their small club from the South-West.
