Malvern Triathlon Club training update: week beginning Monday 6th February 2023
This week we have 4 lovely coached sessions for you Mon-Thurs:
Spinderella continues! Week 5 of the triathlon focussed spin class at Malvern Splash exclusively for MTC. Coach Colin is in charge, with vocal assistance from Activator Sarah, and its a speed week coming up. There are only 12 bikes, and the class is currently full - but keep an eye on the #teamjade WhatApp in case anyone makes their place available.
Run training – Guest Coach Jayne is in charge this week for week 5 of 8, based on The Maffetone Method by Dr Philip Maffetone. This is a proven training method to help individuals to be fit and healthy in a way that minimises injury and over stressing the body. It will take place on tarmac around the Malvern Spa circuit starting from ScrewFix on Betony Road at 7:15pm. Each session will consist of a warm-up, a main set of mixed-pace interval running and a warm-down and is open to all abilities. Being able to measure your heart rate will be helpful (although not essential) for this set, so please bring your training watch/HR monitor if you have one. Please dress for the weather and wear high viz.
Coach Henry is in charge, with help from Coach Nick, and has more fiendish technique and endurance sets up his sleeve. Come along and hone your swimming for the race season!
FREE SWIM OFFER STILL AVAILABLE: The committee would like to offer all MTC members a free coached swim session in this 13 week block! Please IM Head Coach Jayne directly to claim your place.
