‘BEDFORD RELAYS’

The Bedford Team Triathlon Relays are back for the 10th year.

This is a fantastically fun event to take part in with fellow club members acting as a great social as well as competitive event.

We will have a large 6x3metre gazebo up with the club flags out, so there will be plenty of shelter and shade from the sun or rain! Bring a chair & drink and cheer on the teams.

This is a great event which is available to everyone regardless of ability. There will be a number of different teams, some age group, some all male/female and others mixed.

The full course is: Swim 750m, Bike 23k, Run 5k.

This is a relay format each team consists of 3 athletes, who each complete the swim, the bike, and the run in relay; all three members of the team must complete each discipline in turn before the team moves on to the next discipline. All changeovers between team members take place in transition, In other words, 3 connected relay races using all three Triathlon disciplines.

THE SWIM COURSE

The swim is straight to the top of the lake and back down the middle of the jumps. There will be an individual swim start with a spaced out  line up along the lake side in order of anticipated swim times so no crowding and a comfortable start to the swim.

THE BIKE COURSE

A 23Km single lap route with an internal loop. The course heads out on the local roads, easy to follow with a mixture of country lanes and some fast sections.

THE RUN COURSE

The run course uses the Box End pre-marked 5K route which is an off road mainly on grass run route.
