Triathlon England awards 2019: club of the year 

We were extremely proud to be named Club of the Year 2019 at Triathlon England’s annual general meeting and awards ceremony in November 2019.

The judges highlighted our inclusive and supportive ethos, development of athletes from junior to elite level, extensive and varied training schedule and development of its volunteer and coaching base.

TriMark Club Bronze accreditation 

Newcastle Triathlon Club holds the TriMark Bronze club accreditation from Triathlon England. A TriMark club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all genders and ages who want to be involved in the sport of triathlon.

A TriMark club has reached a level of accreditation that helps parents and carers identify the right club for their young people.

The Bronze shows that the club has confirmed it is a community club with a management committee, that it has a constitution, an active activity programme and, where required, a welfare officer. Additionally, the club coaches must be operating within their qualification remit and the club should have an open and inclusive membership offer.
 

Beyond Swim accreditation

NTC has the Beyond Swim accreditation following an assessment in 2019 of its open water swimming. Beyond Swim highlights accredited venues that deliver safe, high quality experiences.

Beyond Swim is the brainchild of Triathlon England and supported by Swim England and Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS UK).

Volunteers provide safety cover on the lake in kayaks and a motorised safety boat is on hand should there be an incident.
